As we learned yesterday, the Washington Post Book World will in February cease publication as a standalone section. Books coverage will be split between the "Outlook" and "Style" sections, and Book World will remain a discrete entity online. Reactions differ -- David Ulin at the LA Times recently underwent such a shift in the paper's books coverage, and in the NYT account he says he's dealing. Others are less sanguine, but some chose to see this development as "a shift, not a death."
