Publishers Weekly is reporting that the Los Angeles Times has decided to fold its standalone book review, a mainstay on the scene for at least three decades. This is sad news indeed, as under the recent editorship of David Ulin the section has been consistently excellent, providing a slightly different take than the east coast standbys at the New York Times and Washington Post.
